7 March | Interpreting Radiocarbon Dates | ||||||||
Lab |
Please go to the BCal web site and, at a minimum, click on the "information" heading, and read its "introduction for new users." To use BCal to calibrate dates, you need to register to open an account (it's free). Using the tutorial is a good idea. Intelligent, informed use of radiocarbon dates is extremely important. In this class you'll learn how to interpret sets of radiocarbon dates through modelling. BCal provides sophisticated tools for doing this, right on the web. Read chapter 15 Sites: BCal: Bayesian Radiocarbon Analysis, OxCal Software for Radiocarbon Dating, IsoTrace Lab, CALIB, Radiocarbon.org |
