Khirbat Mahrama

Khirbat Mahrama (site WZ 60) is a ruin on the upper watershed between Wadi Ziqlab and Wadi Yabis drainages where the Wadi Ziqlab Project carried out test excavations in 1986. The ruins of a village of the Ottoman period occupy the top of the hill, and there is considerable depth of Early Bronze Age deposits. There has been considerable tomb-robbing at the site since road construction in 1985-86 exposed tombs of the Roman period there.

A summary of our excavations at the site appears in Banning et al. (1989).

A gallery of photographs from the fieldwork at Tabaqat al-Buma is currently under construction.

Web access to the Wadi Ziqlab Database is also currently under construction.
