Dr. Boyd's current research projects are on immigrant inequality
in the labour force, the migration of high skilled labor
and related re-accreditation difficulties, the social construction
of ethnicity, and the integration of the second generation
with emphasis on socioeconomic integration, acculturation,
and intermarriage. Other public policy issues she is tackling
include: admission criteria and their implications for the
socioeconomic integration of immigrant women, language training
for immigrants, and the social and economic wellbeing of
foreign-born seniors. This work will provide the most up-to-date
data possible using new Canada census information and administrative
data collected by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
