May 27 - June 10 2007. Christos Hatzis will be the composer-in-residence with the Scotia Festival of Music in Halifax, Nova Scotia. There will be a number of his chamber and orchestral works presented at the festival including Tongues of Fire, a newly created percussion concerto for percussionists Evelyn Glennie and Beverley Johnston, a commission by the Scotia Festival of Music. Two separate premieres of  Tongues of Fire will take place: one featuring Beverley Johnston as soloist at the Scotia Festival of Music with the Festival Orchestra, and two featuring Evelyn Glennie as soloist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Calgary Philharmonic in 2008.
