    Dance progression
1-2 (a) M's step:
(1:1) Step diagonally forward to the L on L foot
(1:2) Step R foot behind L
(1:3) Step diagonally forward to the L on L
(1:4) Step R foot diagonally forward to R
(2:1) Step L foot behind and to the right of R foot
(2:2) Jump up, swinging R foot around and to the R
(2:3) Land on both feet, with L heel touching R instep (3rd position).

Woman's step can be the same as M's, or with opposite footwork (see note behow).
In some places M landed on R foot on (2:4) above, kicking L foot up behind.

3-8, 1-83   Repeat above 7 times. At end of 7th repeat, finish facing partner.
9-16 (b) Dance 16 reel steps, facing partner. Alternatively, dance 14 reel steps, and finish with 3 stamps on bars 15-16.
9-16   Take waltz hold, and dance polka.
    Repeat as desired.
Note: the first 16 bars can be danced in either of two ways: (1) if W dances the same step as M, the couple moves together as a couple in a zig-zag path to the left, then back to the right; (2) if W dances with opposite footwork, the couple dances away from each other during the first 3 beats, then towards each other.
