Les Lanciers 4: Les Visites

Formation: 4 couple square set. Head couples (couples 1 and 2) respectively have their backs to or face the music. Side couples: couple 3 stands on the side to the right of couple 1, and couple 4 faces couple 3.

Steps: chassé, chassé-croisé, pas de bas, walk. Unless otherwise specified, all steps begin with R foot.

9-10 1 (a) Couple 1, holding inside hands, dances to in front of couple 3, 1 chassé and 2 walking steps. (=visit)
11-12 Couple 1 and 3 do a courtesy (couple 1 stepping to the left, couple 3 to the right).
13-14 Couple 1, holding inside hands, dances to in front of couple 2, 1 chassé and 2 walking steps.
15-16 Couple 1 and 2 do a courtesy (couple 1 stepping to the left, couple 2 to the right).
Couples 1 and 2 take L hand in L with partner, and M places R arm around partner's waist.
17-20 (b) M1 and M2 guide respective partners in front and to their left, while themselves dancing behind and to the right, dropping hand-hold. 1 chassé-croisé, 2 pas de bas steps. M begins with R and W with L foot. NB both couples are facing each other.
21-24 Couples 1 and 2 repeat in the opposite direction (W passing in front of M), M to the left with L foot, and W to the right with R foot. 1 chassé-croisé, 2 pas de bas steps.
1-4 (c) Couples 1 and 2 dance half chain across to opposite place, 3 chassé steps and 2 walking steps.
5-8 Couples 1 and 2 dance half chain across back to original place, 3 chassé steps and 2 walking steps.
  2     Couple 2 visits couple 4 and then couple 1.
  3     Couple 3 visits couple 2 and then couple 4.
  4     Couple 4 visits couple 1 and then couple 3.
    The sequence ends with one clap on the last beat.
