Iipuli-kukko

Country: Kauhajoki, Pohjanmaa, Finland
Type: couple dance
Formation: open circle of couples, facing partner. M face in LOD, W face in RLOD.
Steps: toe-heel, polkka. Toe-heel is danced as follows: turning to L, hop on L foot, with R toe to floor in front (1:1), turn to face forwwards, hop on L foot, and touch R heel to floor in front (1:3), turn to face R, hop on R foot, and touch L toe to floor in front (2:1), turn to face forwards, hop on R foot, and touch L heel to floor in front (2:3).
Music:

    Dance progression
|:1-4:| (a) Beginning with ML/WR foot, dance 7 toe-heel steps facing partner. Finish with 2 stamps.
|:5-8:| (b) Take waltz hold with partner, and dance 8 turning polkka steps, turning CW and moving in LOD.
    Repeat from (a) as desired.
