ECO336 Public Economics
First Writing Assignment Revision
As mentioned, this assignment consists of two rounds. For the second round, I would like you to
respond to the feedback given on your First Writing Assignment. The revision stage is worth up to 3 percent
of your overall grade.
Objective:
The main purpose of this revision is to take advantage of the
comments provided on your answers to the First Writing Assignment, handed in
last week, so that you can improve your assignment in the ways suggested.
With that in mind, please read over the comments carefully and
make sure you understand them. Then
rewrite your answer to the same question, responding to those comments. In some cases, a substantial revision is
required. And some students should
seriously consider making use of additional writing resources available on
campus. (See: http://www.utm.utoronto.ca/asc/ or
http://www.writing.utoronto.ca/writing-centres/centres/.)
Your responsiveness to comments received on the first round will
constitute part of the grade on the revision.
In concrete terms, you will need to write a separate note saying briefly
(but still in sentences) how you responded to each of the comments received when
revising your essay.
Rules:
1. You have two weeks to
complete this revision.
2. A hard copy of your
revised assignment is due in at 12.10pm on Thursday November 17, 2011, one week
after the term test. You must also hand
in your original graded assignment.
Note: without the original, your revision will not be graded. Please also note that I will collect the
assignments in at 12.10pm. If
you would like your assignment to be graded, then you should make it
your business to ensure that your assignment has been handed in by then.
3. You will also need to
write and submit the note (referred to above) saying briefly how you responded
to the comments when revising your answers.
4. Turnitin: you must
submit the final version of your document to Turnitin.com. (The same login information as before
applies.)
Please let me know if you have any questions.

To CHECK (on November 17):
1. Did you
hand a hard copy of your revision in by 12:10pm?
2. Did you
also hand in your first-round essay in hard copy?
3. Did you
also submit a note describing the changes you made (see above)?
