Understanding (and Reinventing) Comics

Scott McCloud <http://www.scottmccloud.com/comics/comics.html> tries out another technique for "interactive" Web-reading. the long vertical scroll, echoing the filmstrip or the piano roll. The wide horizontal scroll is frowned on by Web-site style advisors, despite its obvious panoramic potential. Perhaps McCloud is trying a bit too hard to be "futuristic."

McCloud's thoughts in June 2000; his webletter appears more or less monthly.
