"It is disingenuous for politicians, especially those holding office in junior levels of government, to take credit for economic prosperity when it exists and for voters to blame them when it does not. The only reasonable explanation of why we go along with all this is that we cannot stand to think no one is in control."  What do you think? Do elected politicians and the bureaucrats who work for them have the knowledge and will to "manage" the economy? Do the voters who elect governments know enough or care enough to ensure that whatever possibilities there are for such action will be entrusted to those most capable of carrying it out?
