Guest speaker Selena Phillips-Boyle (York University) will be bringing a little bit of NWAV home to us with her sociolinguistics talk, entitled "The Canadian Vowel Shift: Shifting Westward"! Come learn about the vowel system of Our True North Strong And Free, and how speakers from Edmonton compare phonetically to the national average. Following the talk, there will be time for a Q&A session. Refreshments will be provided.
